Description

Fresh, fruity, and just a little fiery! This easy Blackberry Salsa recipe combines juicy blackberries, lime, cilantro, and a hint of jalapeño for a vibrant salsa twist.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 cups fresh blackberries, firm and ripe
  • 1-2 green onions, finely minced
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and minced (or to taste)
  • A small handful of fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 lime, juice and zest
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Crush or muddle your blackberries in a medium bowl. We’re looking for a slightly chunky result and all the juicy goodness of the fruit.  Beware of the blackberry juice, it stains like crazy, so take appropriate precautions.
  2. Add diced onions, chopped cilantro, jalapeño, zest and juice of the lime. Taste. Add pinch of salt, as needed. Mix lightly. Serve immediately.

Notes

Storage notes: Blackberries are not known for their longevity. This is a fresh salsa, it will hold three to four days in the fridge – tops. Truly spectacular flavour.
