Description

Make Burger Dust, our Steakhouse Burger Rub at home! This signature burger seasoning blend has been my companion though several professional kitchens, international burger competitions and backyard hosting. The combination of paprika, onion, cumin, and brown sugar makes for burgers with incredible crust and flavour.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons sweet paprika
  • 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoons packed brown sugar

Instructions

To Make: Combine all ingredients in a small bowl. Whisk thoroughly to evenly distribute the spices. Transfer to an airtight spice jar. Store in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months.

To Use:  Sprinkle approximately 1 to 1½ teaspoons of Burger Dust per burger patty. Season just before cooking. Cook over high heat (400°f) to develop a beautifully caramelized crust, or grill at a lower temperature (350°f) for beautifully seared crosshatch lines and medium rare results.
